I caught my teenage son watching porn and masturbating, I don't want to embarass him by telling his mother and punishing him but it's not the first or second time I've caught him. It's really grotesque stuff too. What should I do?

I am assuming you are his Dad by the question. Did you ever touch yourself as a teenager or are you one of those guy's that thought if you played with it you would be gay. Come on don't all boys do that? In order not to "catch" him in the act try knocking on the door, if he's not behind a door try coughing before you get too close to the room he is sleeping in. If you are catching him masturbating in a common general area then YOU should talk to him he is your child also.

there is nothin wrong with masterbation, every teenage boy does it. it is just another phase of life. however, if u had a problem with the porn he was watching, i would have an honest talk about. but do not punish him for what is a natural thing. if u punish him, make it clear that u are punishing him for the porn he was watching. Also, do no tell his mother, keep that between you and him. This can make sex somthing open to talk about with u. if u tell his mother, he may shy away from asking any questions.

i saw on an episode of talk sex that masturbating is normal and is also healthy, but if it is excessive it might be a sign of abuse. i would talk to him about the changes he is going through if he is that stage of a teenager. if you dont want him watching porn, block it off the tv, and if he is old enough to rent it, then take away his tv, put parental controls on the net. i wouldnt go as far as punishing him for doing something normal, but i would tell him that if he is going to do it then to do it where you dont have to keep seeing it.

He is a teenager, whether you like it or not he is going to mastrubate; it's completely normal for kids his age to be thinking about that kind of stuff. As for the porn... If you don't like him looking at it, you should just let him know. He's the one putting it up for himself on embarressment; he would have to be in a pretty unprivate place for you to be catching him so many times. Just talk to him about it, deep down inside, I bet he will understand about the porn.

If it is on the computer, remove the computer and place it in a area where he can not get to it. If it is on a TV, take away the TV, you should definitely talk to him about it, tell him that its wrong, you have to punish him though, its probably the best thing you can do. If it gets worse, you should tell his mother.

look man, as most of all answers state, it is a normal thing. Give him privacy, talk with him about sex and porn and so on, but get the ideea of "punishing" him. What for ? You should be carefull, as a kid will never forget or forgive any of his parents if he is punished and doesn't feel he was guilty.

oh leave him alone have the talk with him but he a growing boy he could be whacking and watching porn or he could be out there drinking and doing drugs you decide as long as he realizes that what happens on those movies is not what happens in real life he should be fine
Gotta admit though I would love to call the cable company they send some lady to my house and when i open the door she just starts playing with my cable

Well since he is growing he gets these certain hormones that will tell him how to feel.Dont punish him badly.Just talk to him and let him know you understand.It is just hormones and kids get pretty curious at this age.

Help him out!! Teach him how to do it without getting caught. Tell him to lock the door. You only have a problem if he enjoys being watched.
He's not going to stop whacking it; just tell him how to do it in private.
