US is not at war with Iraq and had never been
Be it desert storm or the recent compaign, both are aimed at Saddam and his followers, and to free the Iraqi people from the dictator.

Bush's reasons for going to war against Iraq could have been used to go to war with any number of countries in the middle east that we don't like like: pakistan, iran, etc...
But we seemingly arbitrarily went for iraq, the weakest country of the bunch. They all have potential for weapons of mass destruction and they all hate america. Iraq just happened to be the weakest country that also had oil.
Is this a coincidence?
or the answer to your question.
I think its the answer folks.

Yes, strange you put this in Basketball - l think perhaps you don't understand the categories here.
How complete an answer are you looking for? In a word: OIL. The US needs more and this is one way of getting their mitts on an endless supply.
But really, you have to examine recent history from Viet Nam onwards to understand that basically the United States government doesn't really care how many people die to ensure that the "American way" will continue.

First of all..why is this under basketball?
The US is at war with Iraq because of the rationing oil, also because of Sadam Hussein, even though we already have him in custody, we are still trying to eliminate the rest of the enemy.
I think this war is stupid, it should have been over now but its not.
I am in the Army Reserve and hoping soo much that I don't end up going to Iraq.
Because this war should be over..
Why are we still fighting?
We are losing so many people...
and for what?
Why?
Because of George Bush, who cant keep
out of someone Else's business.
cant we just get this freakin war over with already?!

George W. Bush can't keep his big nose out of other peoples business and there is the oil which does not belong to the United States but, he will take it at any cost.
