Well, I'd wait on sex until its a little more legal. Other then that, well, its a little unusual (especially if you're still in high school) but if your parents don't have a problem, if he's a good person, and if you can respect each others wishes and boundaries, you should be OK. But for someone who's been an adult for about 5 years, you shouldn't be the one taking care of him.
I'm 17, and my BF's three years older than me, but I have a late birthday, so a lot of people gave me crap about dating someone who was 20 while I was still 16 more a few more weeks. That was irritating, but you don't have too long to wait. good luck!

I am 20yrs old, and I'm going out with a guy that's 5 years old, my dad knows and he has no problem with it. But more important I have no problem with the fact that he's older, and he has no problem with the fact that I'm younger, we never think about it. Just remember that men mature later so it's not so strange for a woman to go out with an older man. My mum was 4 years older than my dad. It's pretty normal, so as long as you find nothing wrong with it, it's fine. And not all men are there just to use you, maybe he's genuine.

At 18 I started dating a guy who was 5 1/2 years older than me. We've been married now for 20 years.
My only real thought on your question is that you are wondering if maybe he hangs around you because your young and pay for so much - if you are wondering about this, it's a sign that maybe it is exactly that.
Consider your relationship carefully.

Yes. There are laws against it for a reason. Even though you are probably an intelligent person he is older and has probably experienced more things. Why is he not with someone his age? Do they not put up with his habits? I can't help but to think that if he really cared about you he would have waited until you were at least eighteen. Good luck.

dont get in his pants and dont let him in your pants for a year if he leaves you for that reason he wasnt worth it if he still stays and he loves you and shows it, it doesnt matter what age you are people just think its a big thing when people are young but older people do it all the time i bet alot of the married adults you know are a few years apart (over 9 years is kinda weird unless your over 35)

If you are almost 18 then I don't see a problem. Just be careful about pregnancy.
