I've had this problem. Make sure it isn't any medication you're taking or identify any stressors and try to deal with that. Liquid melatonin works great! Also Valerian Root works very well too--I prefer the liquid. Ambien is WONDERFUL and will be the best sleep you've ever had. This requires a prescription and should not be taken every night or over long period of time. Sleeping pills can become addictive that is why I prefer the natural remedies such as melatonin and valerian root. You can also take some benedryl--same active ingredient as in sleeping pills. I wouldn't suggest this be done all the time.

Try:
*Having a warm glass of milk before going to bed
*When laying in bed breathe in through your nose and out
through your mouth and concentrate on doing this until
you fall asleep
*Try not to have an active mind and think of all the bad
things that has happened during the day/week as you
are trying to go to sleep
*music playing softly may help
Good Luck!!!

if you would liek to sleep better put sum music on really low...it doesnt really matter what type...well this is what helps me...becuause i have truoble sleeping @ night too! if that doesnt help watch t.v. or if you have a PSP play a game on there...
if none of these things help, take a really hott bath, and lay in it for about 10 minutes, and then hop into bed, and close your eyes, and you should fall asleep. if you are still having trouble sleeping go to your doctor, or i think if u go to liek rite aid they have over the counter slepeing pills. nyquill will definately make you fall asleep, but i dont recomend that, beacuae 1. its not good for you, and 2. it makes you feel like crap in the morning, and while trying to fall asleep your head gets loopy and u feel wierd liek ur spinning in the air...(not a nice feeling when trying to sleep)
well i hope this helps. Im sorry if it doesnt! :(

Exercise in the day! That'll make you tired enough to fall asleep in the evening.

OR, go study some boring topic in a book, not online. The internet can give you too many exciting distractions.

Eat turkey. It has some intersting enzyme that induces drowsiness.

Cup of warm milk might do it too.

STOP STRESSING OUT! That works too!

Buy any video from the late Dr. John Mack Professor of psychology at Harvard. They tend to be about alien abduction, but his monotonous tone is deeply sleep inducing.

He will have you alseep in 2 minutes.

1. Try reading a book until your eyes feel tired.
2. Lay on your bed thinking about nothing.
3. Try to feel more comfortable in bed.

Try some Lavender lotion or oil. It's a natural sleep aid. Try meditating before bed.
