Have green / blue hazel eyes that change color? Use a gray kohl pencil / liner, it will also color brows.

Have green / gold hazel eyes w/ brown flecks? Use cinnamon brown or cocoa brown (a gold brown or a red brown.)

To really bring out the hazel color, try a brown eyeliner. Avon's got this set put together for hazel eyes that looks great. It's an eyeshadow quad, liner, and mascara. I've got the one for blue eyes and people have commented that my eyes really stand out.

I use brown, although depending on how dark your hazel is you can still use black. I tried a black eyeshadow and it was too much of a contrasting color. Although darker black does work. I do love brown so much more. Also try a dark army green... I bet that would look nice as well, as long as it wasn't too thick.

the cool thing about hazel eyes is that they look different colors according to the color of your clothes and makeup. So I (having hazel eyes) coordinate my eyeliner to my clothes, and my eyes follow suit.

For the natural look a brown resembling the colour of your eye but why not combine the colour with clothes sometimes.
It's great being able to highlight our eyes to go with our clothes and it can give you a totally different look too.
Experiment with them and go with what you feel comfortable with at the time.
