First, it is because of the cheap labor in China. Chinese people can do just as good (if not better) of a job as the Americans if not better. The cost of living in China is much lower than that in the states; so, you don't have pay as high a salary as you do to an American. And so, the overall cost of running a business is lower; and so, you can make more profit.
Second, it is because of the vast market of China. China has more than a billion people. For convenience, let's just use the figure 1 billion. If you were to sell a product in China for only 1 dollar, if only 1% of people in China buy your product, you make 10 million dollars in sales already.
Third, it is because Chinese people work hard. In China, if you don't want to do your job, there are many people lining up for your position. So, working hard is the only way to keep a job. Whereas in the states, there is union and rights and all that stuff that really spoil the workers in general.
Because of all these reasons, people want to learn Chinese to communiate with the Chinese. And plus, at least, a quarter of the world population speak Chinese. So, in the world, Chinese are the majority

nothing they just want to know what people are saying when they walk into a store or get thier nails done. chinese people are always talking papas and looking at people up and down, so more and more people are learing to speak the language to talk back to them intheir own laugage,
