Cats are strong. What they lack in strength, they make up for in agility and balance. And they also need the ability to chase and attack prey. To be ale to bring down the prey is a result of strength also.
Although most household cats do not chase and attack prey, it is their natural instinct, just like a lion or a cougar, they need to be able to have that strength too.
Imagine if household cats were forced to live in the wild, if they didn't have their natural abilities and instincts, they would eventually become extinct.
Their abilities also explain why you cant outrun your cat, why they always land on their feet, and how they avoid falling objects easily.

Like most animals, they have to be able to take down prey, fight rivals, carry babies, and run fast enough to catch prey. Since cats are predators, weakness in the natural world means they either starve or become food.
