I bought a starter kit from Ulta, so that I could try it out for a cheaper price. I have to admit I really was not impressed. First of all, the foundation powder you use is very chalky looking. You're supposed to use moisturizer on underneath it so that it will adhere to your skin better, but if I wear moisturizer under my foundation I feel like it just comes off. So right away I didn't like that. Besides, foundation should not make my skin look chalky.

I have very fair skin, so I bought the "light" stuff, but it turns out that you actually have to mix different colors together to get a light shade. The two colors you mix together were sallow and yellow based....did not match up with my undertones at all. I did not like the fact that they only give you a limited selection and just somehow think that everyone is going to fall under those skin tones. And I was annoyed with the mess that the powder made--it got all over my bathroom, and would not be practical for using for touchups because you'd get it all over your clothes. Can you imagine going to class or to a business meeting covered in flecks of powder foundation?? How embarrassing would that be?!

I wasn't impressed with it, and I returned it. I had heard so many good things about it that i was willing to give it a try, but I think there are much better products out there that match your skin tone better, look more natural, and are smoother on the skin.

If you're looking for a foundation that matches your skin type really well, I'd strongly recommend Prescriptives. They will do a color typing on you so that they match your undertones with your foundation. I don't normally even bother with foundation because I have naturally great skin, but when I do, I would never use anything other than Prescriptives. The color they recommended for me is my EXACT skin shade. That's very hard to find in a foundation!! Their foundation is light on the skin, doesn't clog the pores, stays on nicely, and it doesn't make you look like you're wearing anything. It just perfects what God gave you.

I hope you try it and find that it works as well for you as it does for me. It is not the cheapest product out there, but it is the most reliable. Good luck!

It's really messy, it DOES transfer to other things like your cellphone or your clothes,

The power goes every where so bend over a sink first cause otherwise you'll find it's on your sleeves down your front every where,

Otherwise it's great. You can put too much on and than you look overly made up but too little and than your spots aren't covered. The color is a good match other than that.

It might be better if it was a pressed powder.

I sometimes mixed it with lotion so it won't be so hard to apply. But I have to say I Didn't reorder. So that says a lot. I have to say when I see the commericals they are so convincing that I almost think of ordering it again. You could always order and return it QUICK before the 30 days is up. Be careful or you're credit card will quickly be billed about 20 days after you order for another and another shipment.

Bare Escentuals and some other mineral make-ups contain bismuth oxichloride which makes your skin glow a little funky... (AND THEY're SOOO RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE!).

Go to Afterglow Cosmetics! They do mineral make-up too. So much cheaper and you get so much more, without the bismuth oxichloride and parabens and all those other horrible chemicals. You can even ask them what color foundation you use now and they'll help you match up the colors! I also got myself a nice sample pack for $20 which has 2 foundation colors, 2 blushes, and setting powder.

Since it seems like you have sensitive skin, you might also want to look through this database to find products that are environmentally friendly for you and for whatever lies past the sewage drain.

I've used it and it works and looks very well. i get compliments on my skin when I use it. It is messy though. I prefer a brand called glo Minerals. I get if from my aestetician and they also sell at Proffitts. It comes in a compact and looks even more natural--I get comments such as your skin is beautiful when i wear it. i don't have good skin--I get acne and have dark spots. I've also notice that bare essentuals rubs off on stuff and glo minerals does not. If you have decent skin and don't need much coverage, Neutrogena makes a handy to use mineral product that I like okay but gloMinerals is the best I've found. it is a little pricey about $35 for a compact but it will last a while

I use bare minerals and it works great! I wouldn't reccommend it for someone who wants to find something that would cover extreme acne or dark spots. It is great at enhanceing your natural beauty. Worth the money.

i use bare minerals and i don't think i would use anything else!!! you get great coverage with a natural look. I started out with the kit on the infomercial..it's a great way to get all the brushes you need at a great price. You can cancel out of the club anytime you want. i now make all my purchases from QVC and sometimes even ebay!

I have used it and I do like what it does for my skin, but the truth is you do NOT look like those models when you are done.
