Given
16 = 9(3 - b)
Distribute the 9 (to cancel the parentheses)
16 = 9·3 - 9·b
Multiply
16 = 27 - 9b
Subtract 16 from both sides(to cancel the 16 on the left side)
16 - 16 = 27 - 16 - 9b
Simplify
0 = 11 - 9b
Add 9b to both sides
0 + 9b = 11 - 9b + 9b
Simplify
9b = 11
Divide both sides by 9
9b/9 = 11/9
Simplify (cancel the 9 on the left)
b = 11/9 or 1 2/9

16 = 9 (3-b) => 16/9 = 3-b => 16/9 - 3 = -b => (16 - 27) /9 =-b
=> -11/9 = -b => b = 11/9

use the distributive property for 9(3-b)
9 x 3 and 9 x -b
16=27-9b
subtract 27 from both sides
-11=0-9b
divide both sides by -9
11/9=b
so the correct answer is: 11/9=b or 1 2/9=b
hope I helped!

use the MDAS rule in solving algebraic problems...
if there is any multiplication involve,do it first
like 9(3-b)
solve it first. it will become 27-9b by distribution
next put the one with the varialble on the left side of the equation.
so, the equation now is 16=27-9b , move the variable, it will become
9b=27-16
(dont forget to change the sign when transposing)
then do the right side,
9b= 11
then divide by nine to get the value of b
b=1.22
hope it helps

Most answers like above
16 = 9 (3-b)
Simplifying
16 = (9x3) - (9xb)
I will now kick out the brackets soo...
16 = 27 - 9b
16 jumps to RHS and -9b jumps to LHS, so they will bcome -16 and +9b resp.
So 9b = 27 - 16
or 9b = 11
oooor.... b = 9/11
hmmm.. sumhow tht number seems familiar!
