And concentrate on lowering its rates and extending its coverage?

Sounds like you've answered the question. However, if the sales justify the barrage of commercials then this is capitalism. One would think they are making a ton of money since they continue to run the commercials. Essentially this is psychology in marketing now. When most people think of insurance, they think of Geico! Why, they see it all the time. This is the ideal example of branding! Like all campaigns, it will wear out. But, who knows when? It's a matter of economics in saying whether Geico should cut back. If they continue to see sales grow, then why cut back. People are buying and changing insurance carriers everyday.

The fact of the matter is that there are many other companies who will always be lowering and extending. Even though it may not make sence, GEICO is mostly into advertising because they are do well on percentages and they have a snatchy little geico who people are into.

You'd think so! There rates are high, that probably why they need to advertise to much lol. I don't use GEICO but I think the commercials are cute, so I guess they can keep doing what they're doing :)

It depends on the profit margins and how much they are spending for a talking gecko.
