Because they are the one thing in life that we have to make and mold to be a great thing. They come from you and there is no words that can describe it. He knows because he has a child. If you ever have kids then you would feel that way too.

I fully understand your position. I'm 21 years old and although my girlfriend doesn't have kids her ex's son still lives with us and we have kids in and out through out the day. I feel like I am not able to live my 20's because I need to be responsible whenever the kids are around.
I personally think that kids are annoying as hell and I never plan on having any. I do have respect for you because I personally would never want to be with anyone who has kids of their own.

Not everyone likes kids, and you definitely shouldn't have any of your own if you don't like them. Personally, I didn't know that I would like kids so much until I had my own. I have 6 kids now by choice (no more though, I got fixed), and I love them to bits. It takes hard work, dedication, consistency, and a good sense of humor to raise polite kids who don't drive everyone crazy in public. You have probably been exposed to too many spoiled children whose parents are lazy or clueless and let them get away with everything. If my kids act up in public, we go home right away, and I don't take the misbehaving children out with me for a while until they learn to behave a little better. They've learned pretty quickly that in order to get what they want, they have to be polite, because in my family, you don't get what you want by throwing tantrums!

There's a biological explanation for it--reason why a gorilla would nurse a human child that fell into her cage, or why a dog would breastfeed a kitten along with her pups. I forget what it's called, but it's inherent in most--if not all--of the animal kingdom.
Maybe you do like kids yourself, you just don't realize it yet. Otherwise, your inability to "like" kids borders on the psychological, and you might (and I mean "might") need help. Peace.

It is fun to watch them grow, see them learn, make mistakes, improve... It is just another part of life... probably the biggest pain and greatest joy... I want kids for completely selfish reasons: because I think I can raise a little bad @ss who will hopefully do an even better job of making his world and the world of those he touches better and happier than I can.

I don't know why either. If they like em then let them though. It's a shame there are a few close minded people who have answered giving you grief because you do not like the same things they do. Those people need to grow up.

Holy Moly! Whats NOT to love? Kids are the greatest blessing we as humans could ever recieve! They are so loyal and energetic. They are little sponges eager for you to fill them with life, love, and wisdom. I can't imagine life without them.

Are you that selfish you hate kids. You cant stand the thought of another person getting more attention how sad you must be a child.

Because some people just have strong maternal and paternal instincts. Plus children are so great. You might understand later in life.
