A cooler and an ac..both cools. reduces the temperature..this is the only similarity i can think of.

BASICALLY A.C MEANS Air conditioning.
Air cooler cools the air.But air conditioner conditions the air entering the area to the atmospheric condition. I.e. it cools the air when the surrounding is hot. and hewarms the air when the environmental temp is cold..

Both need electricity to do their respective work.
