i believe a pick up game refers to people sort of randomly gathering to play a game of basketball. Somewhat of an unorganized meeting of people who may or may not know one another well. Just some folks getting together and finding enough friends \ stragglers to put together a good fun game.
Arguements? possibly over the game, some stupid whiny losers

A pick up game is when you go to the basketball court. You see people playing. And you say you have next game. And if there are other people there before you you have a chance to get picked up on their team. Pick up game. And if you don't get pick you may have to play the next game with you picking up the people that you want on your team.
