We live in Texas, and our electric bill jumped from $178 to $352 in ONE MONTH, and we've done everything in our power to conserve. Is it not enough that we're being gouged at the pumps? Is anyone else here having to pull funds from their grocery budget to pay their electric bill?

Hey, I live in Texas too. You must live around the Dallas area because mine when up to $355 from last month which was $230. I guess I have to turn off all the lights to keep cool, cut down the time I spend on the Internet, use the BBQ grill, take out the kiddie pool to keep cool, walk to the store for excerise and start living like my grandparent in the olden days

Oh yes I am. I live in s. cal. And as a single Dad with some bad luck this year. I am behind and now Elect. company wants a $440 deposit. Everything is up and I cant raise my prices. To many unlicence, ilegal mexicans do it cheaper. So the pay stays low. I am still biding the 80 money. A long time sinse I had a raise.

You're not the only one. The only time I can afford any extras are during winter. The bills pile up during the summer because people are having to juggle them around so they can keep the a/c running. It's either that or suffer in the heat. I feel like a pelican because everywhere I turn there's an enormous bill in front of me!
