About a month ago, my girlfriend, myself, and another person moved into our own place. We thought we would need him for financial reasons... Turns out that me and her can easily afford living here on our own. Now, the reason we are even considering this is because ever since we have moved in he has been the biggest jackass that we have ever seen. He is just down right rude to everyone who lives here and the friends that we have over. He is always kicking our friends out, he doesnt clean, he gripes about everything! We pretty much want him out. The problem being is since he was over the age of 18, he had to be on the lease when we signed all the paper work. I really need help because he is just driving me crazy.

talk to him, and kick him out...

1.) You could let him know what's bothering you. Sometimes, people just don't get it unless you tell them what's wrong. Of course, don't yell at him about it, just be mature: that'll usually give you the best possible results, then make a decision from there.

2.) You could find another place to live with your girlfriend. It doesn't HAVE to be that one specific place, does it?

3.) You could ask that roomate of yours to leave... but I don't think that would be so easy nor very nice.

4.) Hmmm, are you under 18? If worst comes to worst, you might have to live with your family again. I'm not sure if they'll let your girlfriend stay in with your family, but hey, if you're both truly meant to be together, this shouldn't be anything too big.

I hope this helps! :)

I hope it was or is a very short lease. Under those terms, neither of you can move.
You will just have to sit him down, have a serious talk, and tell him when the lease is up, you will have to part ways that it is just not working out.
Unless you have a clause in your lease to be able to terminate it early without penalty. You are stuck.

well, you have 2 options you can let your landlord now the situation and pay the rent for the remaining year and leave, or you can tell the guy that you will find him another roommate to help with your part of the rent but u 2 r moving out of state or just somewhere else it's really none of his business. both of your names r on the lease so he's just as responsible as u r. tell him there's no reason for everyone to be miserable and especially if he's ignorant to your friends u pay as much as he does

Talk to your landlord about your problem. He/she might be able to figure something out. Who's name is on the lease first ? Sometimes that can make a difference . The only one that can legally kick him out is the landlord. He needs to have a good reason or he can be sued .

I live with a guy and a girl that are bf and gf, and they are totally messy. The sink and the counter could be left covered with dishes for a week before they'll clean them, unless her mom comes to visit. I don't use many dishes, and I'll usually wash them when I'm done. So I'm in the opposite position of you almost.

I think you need to find a new roomate to foot your portion of the bills in order to move out, or you'll be responsible for the rest of the money due on the lease, possibly your parents. Then find a place for you and your girl. :-)

Make life a living hell for him. Instead of just cleaning up after him... leave it. It may drive you nuts in the process but eventually if you treat him the way he is treating you he will have enough and either straighten up or move out.

talk to the landlord/ owner of the apartment/or house.. and tell them that you do not need financial help from the guy, and that you are going to move out, if he is not kicked out.. and that he cannot afford it on his own.. and most people renting out.. are kind of greedy.. so they want the rent more then keeping a jackass happy.. so they'll help you out

I would say talk to him, but it sounds to me like he thinks he is the 'boss' since his name is on the lease. You and your friend need to find another place together. You may even need to talk to your landlord to let them know what is going on so when you are ready to leave, you won't have any problems.

Tell him to go in a nice way, and before that, have another grown person of 18 or better waiting in the wings already. I wish you peace. Good luck and much wisdom.
