Of course its illegal. House cares more about finding answers than following laws. He screws around with hospital guidelines so patients get treated as well.
But he gets the job done. He's a quality curmudgeon.

Certain poeple have specific answers written down about health history, medications and issues and put them inside a pill bottle put in an obvious place that some one will find it in case of emergency. If you are looking for this vial of life and any info relating to medical questions, power of attorney person, or family member or clergy can go into one's home to look fpor anything that may shed light onto the problem with the one who is ill. Many senior citizens communities and assisted living require a vile for live, but it should be done by all to help rescue squad or anyone else that needs this important info. In the particular case. House was correct.Barb

I do not understand why anyone watches House. He is rude and obnoxious to not only patients, but to other doctors and staff. He would be run out of a hospital so fast if he acted like that in real life. I see too many jerks in real life to waste my time watching one on tv.
In one episode he told a black doctor, that he disagreed with, to "leave medicine and go plant watermelons." I cannot believe that that comment did not get that show yanked from the air.

I doubt very much that anyone could just enter a person's house without their permission. Perhaps Dr. House DOES get their permission first. However, I've never heard of any doctor doing that. Doctors don't even make home visits anymore!

It's just a t.v. show. Not everything you see is going to be accurate or legal.
No, you can't break into someone's house for more information.
That is a damn good show, I hope it's around for many years to come.
