I'm not sure if it is finished, i'm not much of a color person, just graphite on a white piece of paper. i think it needs some sort of background, but I can't think of what to draw for it. any suggestions welcome.

Well, my take on how 'finished' a piece of artwork is that only the artist can say. If you don't feel comfortable adding anything to it right now, relax. If you never decide to add something to it, relax!

However, you do mention that you feel that it needs some sort of background.

Okay, I'd suggest you think this: where do these creatures live? What do these creatures need? They apparently look safe...like they're away from predators and they are comfortable. They have wings, so they can fly to somewhere remote, or they're already there. Are they close to a food source...or water? What effects do their presence make on their surroundings?

Also, if you pretend that this is a photograph and you're the photographer, where are YOU? Are you behind a tree or perhaps peeking through high grass?

Are they coming back from something or about to start a journey? Are they "home"?

When you begin to imagine the situation as being real (or at least, realistic), you can start to visualize a background. Because, right now they're posing looking beautiful, powerful and majestic, but detached from a context.

Anyway, that's my take on it.

The dragons would benefit from a little more form. Think of light coming from either the left or the right then shade the opposite side to give it a three dimensional form, shadows cast by the creatures on the ground would also give them stability and weight. The detail in the dragons would be compromised by a 'busy' background. Perhaps a simple shading graduating from dark to light might be the answer. Well done on your efforts, keep it up and enjoy your talent.

Very good and very detailed. The only think I would say is to maybe define the wings a little more and make them a little more noticable; some parts of the dragons head are really dark so then when I looked at the wings it didn't seem like they were there at first. It it were me I would put a forst background in with the dragons gathering near a river or something. I hope this helps :)

Considering the overall picture I think in the background you can paint orange and red flames or velvety red hot coal. In any case you will need red, orange and black colors to suit the main drawing.

It a good drawing. Add more shade in and background to bring out the drawing.

the drawing's gr8....i think u shud bring out the dragons a little more by darkening the wings and body coz compared to the face...they're very light....also u can shade just a little around the wings to bring them out...try a background which has something to do with space...u can even work with spirals to give a tornado like feel........gud work

heavily, your makeing this too complicated for your self. in case you want him, be pleasant, attempt to flirt with him somewhat, and if he flirts back ask him to loaf round sometime. merely be confidant and be your self. If he would not sense an same way, so be it. go searching you, what percentage different men do you be conscious? I merely were given out of highschool many years in the past and trust me, even as that is throughout, lots of the folk flow away, you'll flow on, and all you've left from that is the experiance. in case you mess it up, study out of your blunders and attempt back with somebody else. maximum critically besides the undeniable fact that, your in extreme college, merely have interesting.
