It seem to me that if you are speaking in real time you can not count the day that you are in as one of the days of the week so therefore, it will always be six day in the week instead of seven. But, that just if you are using present time.

actually,days ,weeks,month and all are used to keep a count of time.It helps us follow a routine.Ur week may have 6 days(defining days differently).In a normal yr there are 365 days(73*5).So there could have been 73 5-day-weeks.Five days is too small to make a routine.Hence, 7 days(7*52=364)
