Actually it is truth. What I mean by that is this - he is writing about his life only in disguise. He has admitted that all his books are to a greater or lesser degree biographic.

One of his trademarks is a surprising twist at the end. Another is his dark humor.

"The Way up to Heaven" is a good story to read to see both of these trademarks.

Dark, quirky humour. He's quite offbeat, really. And usually simple sentences, but a slightly quicker tempo. Maybe thats just me.
