The French government, has outlawed wearing religious insignia, in SCHOOLS.
This goes for Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists. In short everyone.
They did this in order to promote tolerance. Whether or not its right or not, is not the issue.
Nuns have nothing to do with it.

Well who is going to blame a nun for wearing a scarf? Last two times I was in France it was quite cold. Everyone was wearing scarves and I don't blame them. I wore a scarf too.

Blame denotes fault or accusation. Religious Culture is a harsh one. If a Nun or Muslim woman experiences ridicule it is due to ignorance and nothing more. You must wear your Habit and/or veil in tribute to your religion.
Ignorance should not be a factor in your question. You either KNOW that you are right in adorning such traditional garb without question, or your ego and/or sense of humility has taken over.

They also want them to remove their Veils and stop covering up their bodies.

I wonder how Governments think they're going to promote tolerance by taking away all religious symbols. It's like saying "okay we'll tolerate each other, but only if we all look the same" We should be tolerant and respectfull to people no matter what their beliefs.

thats just so wrong....its as much a muslim women right to wear scarf as it is for a nun..you cant just take away people's religion so people would tolerate them better...i mean then its not really tolerance is it? if you make a muslim women change then wat r they tolerating anyway?
