We have no distinctive look that is apparent. We are Caucasian and can have any eye color or hair color. We can have big noses or small noses. We are a Caucasian blend like other central Europeans.

Like so many immigrants, (Mexicans most recently,) my ancestors were scoffed. And so the word, "Bohemian," became, (in some aristocratic circles,) a word that is synonymous with backward.

I come from a farming lot that settled in Eastern Nebraska. There are still small communities known as Czech communities. Of course, Bohemia became part of the country of Czechoslovakia. Most in these communities have Bohemian names. Many of those names end in, "cek," or, "ski." as we are Slavic like Poles or Russians. As Mexicans, in the present, Bohemians stuck to the old language for some time. My parents, born in 1918 and 1926, grew up with Bohemian as their main language; even though, they were second and third generation born in the United States. There generation never taught mine the language. I am 51.

I don't think they are as big today, but when I was a child, Czech festivals were common in these small Czech communities. They consisted of a carnival, a parade and a polka dance in the evening. The cuisine lasted through the generations. It involves sausage, roast pork and roast duck. Pastries are big. Sour kraut and dumplings are popular sides.

even as i imagine of Bohemia, i imagine of Prague and the interest-catching decrease crystal that they make. that is lead glass, so that you probable could use the goblets only for adornment, yet they make ones that are qualified as having a lead content fabric okay for use with nutrients. To be 100% probability-free, get a vase or a chandelier.
