Everything is slow or won't open at all. Is this a side effect of yahoo answers or a virus? What do I do now? I want it to go back to how it used to run.

Yahoo does not cause pop-ups. You have malware. Here is a free cleaning procedure:
1. Scan for virus and remove (free online scan) with BitDefender

3. Scan for ad/spyware and remove (free download) with Spybot Search & Destroy

I don't think that problem has been originated from yahoo answers, as Yahoo answers is just a website & it does not contain any spam, pop up,etc. Furthur I think that either it is a result of any Virus,etc. & you shall go ahead with a good antivirus like Norton, McAfee, etc. Also you need to install a pop blocker(Yahoo, Rediff Toolbar contains the same)

try downloading a yahoo toolbar.if this does not work go to www.download.com and download all-in one secretmaker.
