The universe would come to an abrubt end. NASA knows about this and warns all astronauts to never open a jar of air in space.

The molecules in the jar would begin to fly out as soon as you cracked the seal on the jar because the pressure inside would be higher than the near-vacuum in space. When the pressure inside dropped to the same as the surrounding space, the motion would stop.

You can see the same effect by taking the lid off an empty jar at the beach, then driving to the top of a nearby mountain and opening the jar. The difference is you don't need a billion dollars to get NASA to fly you into space, and you can hear the air go whooshing out of the jar, but the principle (pressure equalizes) is identical.
