If you mean 'asteroid,' then yes, but not a killer one. If you're talking about a fantastical creature, then no, unless fantasy becomes reality.

destroy as in kill everything? not likely. Bacteria, lichen, yeast and algae might be the only living things left, though.

Few asteroids exist that could actually kill everything, and none are known to exist that threaten to make earth shatter into a non-planet.

But many exist that could have the effect of killing most or all of human life.

The probability of a very deadly strike is that it will happen. It will happen in the next 50 billion years. It could happen next week.

100 years ago, a huge explosion happened in russian territory, it had the force of the most powerful nuclear bomb we have now. It was probably a comet or asteroid. It didn't "destroy earth" but it wasn't a harmless little shooting star, either.

~Only if it hits or is big enough and passes by in a near earth orbit.

Smaller ones could destroy life on earth, but the planet itself is pretty resiliant.

there are no "killer" asteroids. one of sufficient size could end all life on this planet.
