To me it seems like all that comes from them is complaints about how bad Conservatives and Bush are messing up. They seem to have lost and real beliefs and just doggedly support whatever is the opposite of the Republicans opinion. Do you think that some big climactical event will occur with them soon. Some unvieling or something of what the party has morphed into?

Well webxen thank you for proving my point right there, all the hollering and screaming, and pointing of finger as to what we're doing wrong.

The Democrats are quick to criticize - but have nothing to offer in their defense. They complain and criticize - but don't provide an alternative answer as to what they think will make things right, John Kerry introduce an initiative to get our troops out of Iraq by the end of this year - Only 13 people - including Kerry voted for this measure. As the saying goes, they need to think out of the box and come up with a reasonable solution - otherwise they can forget about retaking congress in 2006 and the presidency in 2008.

You mentioned complaints from democrates and all the hollering and screaming. News flash, try listening to Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O' Reilly and all the other republican nutcases. You will hear more crying than a fat person on a hunger strike.
The fact is is that it's not just democrates complaining about republicans it's most everybody. Only die hard republicans can stomach that party. The non biased people can't stand them either.
As for supporting whatever is the opposite of the republicans. Hell that's a pretty good move to me. Chances are if you oppose anything about conservatives your probable correct in doing so 75% of the time.

In a word, no - I think the Democrats have been defining themselves against the Republicans since at least Carter without proposing any platforms for themselves, nothing that they "stand for". And I think that may be why the Democrats have lost the last 2 presidential elections - they allow the Republicans to shape the issues and the debates and have allowed themselves to be defined as "not Republicans" instead of the "Democratic party". With the political climate the way it is now, and with the 2006 Congressional elections just around the corner, now would be the ideal time to float a new Democratic Party platform, but nothing ... if not now, never, I'm afraid..

Democrats are trying to avoid the train wreck already caused by the Republicans by getting on a better and newer track.

Neither side has a claim to moral superiority, so neither side will win in November. The Dems will pick up some seats, but not enough to take the House and Senate.

The democratic party and republican party are two sides of the same coin... the one stolen from the citizens pockets by this corporate oligarchy masquerading as our democratically elected government.

Well, they're all such a big bunch of whiners that it will be interesting to see what happens if they get control of the Presidency again.
