No, No, No.
I have grown up in Charlotte all my life and its horrible.
Horrible.
The school system is probably the worst in America.
CMS (Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools) is so overcrowded and they have serious disciplinary issues. I'm a sophomore at Hopewell High which is a part of CMS and we have about 2700 kids or more at our school. Charlotte is not interesting, very boring and the traffic is horrendous, although I realize it probably is everywhere. The school system is only going to get worse. If you move here and when its time for your children to go to school then I reccomend a private school, if not then don't move to Charlotte. Don't get me wrong, NC is a nice place overall, just not Charlotte. And thats pretty sad if I'm speaking bad about it and I was born and raised here.
From what I can tell SC is a really nice state. Lots of beaches and cheap gas. I visited Phoenix recently and compared to Charlotte, I love it. Its a bit hot there though. HaHaHa.
Well, I really don't think Charlotte is laid back at all. The crime is outrageous, which again I am assuming is everywhere but still we're up there with high percentage crime rates. Weather is usually mild for the most part, but it can get bad.
But, I'm sorry if I put a damper on things, its just how life is here.
I hope I helped in some way.

my sister lives there with her husband. yes the houses are somewhat cheape there then here and yes its very green and beautiful out there. there are lots and lots of tall trees and masqittos and humidity. once my sister refused to leave the house becus of too many masqittos outside. it does rain too much and they do get storms a lot. but it should be a great place to raise kids. they will have lots of green grass to run around.
my family moved to missouri and they love it. lots of green grass there. its just my husband and i left in Pheonix. truth is we did move to missouri once but moved back after a week. ehhehehe. green grass is not for all of us. id rather stay in a big city where i dont have to drive an hour to the hospital. that could be a down fall. if your in a small town thats somewhat far from the city then youd have to wait forever for the ambulance. hope you never need them. good luck.

Well, if you like rain, humidity and trees. . .lots of trees then go for it. I am from the west and love to visit back east but honestly after being there for awhile it feels good to come back home. I start to get a little claustrophobic with all the foliage. And, the rain gets a little old as well.
