I saw Pirlo did it at last match against Ghana, but I also did see Beckham kicked a curling ball to Ecuador's goal..
What's the different then? And how to do it both?

Well first a cannon ball is basically a hard ball, for that try to hit it just in the middle, and put some direction to where you want your ball to go.

Then the curling, you can apply it by hitting the ball with the interior part of the shoe creating a spin and giving some direction, as more to the edge you hit it, the hit would go perfect.

If you don't know some terms ill help you with that too.

Interior Part: The part that faces the other shoe, this part is usually used to give short passes, because you can calculate the precision and the strenght

Spin: hitting the ball so it makes a curve, it depends to where do you want to shoot, and which leg you are using.

Cannon Ball: Very hard ball, that usually doesn't have any effect(curling ball, loose-speed ball, backward ball, and some others) this is mostly use for hits that want to have a fixed direction.

Curled Ball: Is referred to the ball that has some effect that when you kick it, doesn't finish in the same side the ball is suppose to go. The ball has a shape of a curve in the air.
