Another good series is the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. The books provide an alternate take on vampires.People who are unjustly murdered call upon Artemis(Greek goddess) and she grants them a day to avenge themselves. After that they are recruited to her army to fight against evil. This series is romance based.Best of the series are 'Dance with the devil' and 'Seize the night',Nightplay.
Dance with the devil by Sherrilyn Kenyon. The following review is taken from Amazon
Zarek was mad, bad and more than a little insane, and now everyone wants him dead. But hey, that was nothing new to this loner. Born the bastard son of a Roman nobleman and a Greek slave, Zarek had known a lifetime of abuse, torture and humiliation.
It takes a very special woman to see past that hostility and find the lost, unloved boy inside. Happily, Astrid is such a woman (or demigoddess, actually). Her empathy, patience and unconditional love make the perfect foil for Zarek's personal demons. They truly are a match made in heaven -- or should I say Mt. Olympus?
For a really funny vampire romance books read Argeneau book series by Lynsay Sands. The first one of the lot is 'Single white vampire'.Recluse vampire and novelist Lucern Argeneau finds his lair being invaded by his determined editor Kate.He has to hide the fact that he is a vampire from Kate, partake his daily blood quota and manage his family. His interfering all-vampire family doesn’t make things easier.Infact his mom thinks that Kate is perfectly suitable for him.
Prime vampire novels by Susan Sizemore is interesting. The best of the lot is the 4th book 'Master of Darkness.' Reluctant vampire hunter Eden Faveau thinks Laurent is her new partner in an investigation to take down a local vampire drug ring. Laurent is really a renegade vampire from the Tribe Manticore and he is in the right place at the right time to take advantage of Eden. He needs her computer expertise to hack a laptop that he stole from the Tribe leader, Justinian.

I love Julia Quinn, particularly her Bridgerton series of romance novels, although almost all of hers are good. There are 8 books in that series, but she also has stand-alone romance novels.
I also enjoy Stephanie Laurens works. It's hard to pick a favorite really. She has several continuing series (but in my experience with romance novels you can pick up any in the series and benefit from the book.)
LaVyrle Spencer is also a favorite of mine. I believe she is now retired, but her books can be found in every bookstore and library.
Sandra Brown has some good books too. I've read at least a dozen of her books.
Johanna Lindsey is also quite good. I particularly enjoy Love Me Forever.
It really depends on if you're looking for historical romance or contemporary romance as to which authors will be your favorites.

Bridges of the Madison County.
When I read that book I was about 26 and in college. I read it all in one go through the night. And I actually cried with tears flowing from my eyes, which I think is even more amazing when you realize that I am a strong hearted man and not a little girl.
This book remained a New York Times No. 1 bestseller for more than a 100 weeks in a row.

Romance novels aren't usually my favorite, but I do like anything by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss. Something about her characters, plots, and little snippets of historical information keep my interest. Though not completely historically accurate (what romance novel is?) it does make an attempt that I appreciate.

If you're looking for something a little off the beaten path, Holly Lisle's "Midnight Rain" and "Last Girl Dancing" are great--they're romance/suspense with a bit of paranormal thrown in. I'm not big fan of the romance genre, but they had me hooked.

Julie Garwood - not just a good Romance writer - a really good writer. My favorites are "Saving Grace" and "The Secret" - but find any of her Romances - I guarantee you will love them. Last summer a friend lent me one of Mary Balogh's "Simply---" novels. Before my trip was over I had found and read them all!

Anything by Nicolas Sparks. But can I recommend 2 of his books. One is "True Believer" and two "At First Sight" (That's the sequel to True Believer) Believe me, it will REALLY be worth your time. Sparks is my favorite author. You should read all his books.
Warning: Emotional Rollercoaster~ But well worth it! Enjoy!!!
