Guys say a lot of things, and usually love is one of them to get you to do what he wants. Its harsh, but love the word love has lost its meaning and become trivialises. Lose him

if he doesn't like what u send him, u should look somewhere else where someone will appreciate u. unless, he sends you gifts that are tangible, and treats you like you want to be treated. it seems you are upset by him not responding well to your gifts. maybe that should be a topic to discuss out loud, if it is bothering u.
