Hell yeah!!
He played amazing ball and should be in the Hall of Fame for that alone.
]Not what he chose to do as a manager.

Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame. The guy bet on baseball get over it. Bud Selig is the only one preventing it from happening. How should the All-Time hits leader not be in the Hall of Fame? Doesn't make any sense. We can put in guys who have done drugs, raped women, and cheated on their wives. But we won't put a guy in who bet on the game. I'd rather be associated with a guy who bet on the game than the other three I just said. Pete made a mistake plain and simple. Keeping him out is an injustice to those who love the game of baseball. If I had a vote Pete would be in on the next ballot.

There are signs in every clubhouse in baseball, warning not to bet on baseball....Pete could have gambled all he wanted on any other sport...He made his choice, now he's going to have to live with the consequence...

For those that say "Pete Rose is the greatest baseball player of all time"....Rose was never/ever even the "best" player on his own ML team...He absolutely "was" a very good player for a very long time....4256 hits - 303 Life time BA...But we are talking about a guy who other than his first 4 years with the Reds played "power" positions...The vast majority of Rose's career he played the OF/1B/3B...His 160 career HR, or an average of 6.7 per year are very low...Rose was at best, average on defense, with a below average arm...Someone above mentioned his stolen bases, Rose stole 198 bases in his career and was caught 149 times, not good...But I do think Rose was a great base runner, he would go first to third or take an extra base with the best of them...

For his contribution to the game on the field he should be in the HOF...For his stupidity and arrogance he probable never will be...

Yes Pete should be in. He is in the Hall as accomplishments but his bust is not. Is that not backwards. You can see pete in there as the hits king and for his steals( maybe I havent been there since Ricky became the Steals leader) So wh not his Bust. Whoever referenced Barry Bonds in this question is a idiot as Barry should be there as well when all is said and done. I qureentee if there was money to make offf of Pete rose he would be in.

Baseball has one unbreakable rule... no gambling on the game. Rose not only bet on the game, but he bet on his own team's games. And then he lied about it for a dozen years - over and over again. And then - he told the truth... why? because it was right? because of the fans? for the integrity of the game? No - he told the truth to sell his book! The guy had incredible God-given talent and he made the most of it on the field. But he made himself unworthy of the highest honor in the sport because of his actions off the field. Rose did not make a mistake - he made hundreds of them and showed nothing but contempt for baseball, the Hall of Fame and fans of the game. He is an ongoing disgrace...

That being said, baseball has become a rather disgraceful game. Its recent heroes are steroid-enhanced record-thieves and everyone from the owners to the players to the TV networks have put financial interests over the integrity of a once rather special sport. Maybe Cooperstown should induct Rose - maybe he should be the poster-boy of modern MLB.

I remember watching pete rose when i was a kid and to this day i dont think anybody played or plays with the intesity that pete did, that in itself made him one of the greatest players. I was behind pete for so long that it took on kind of a mystical"look up to ' kind of thing but after the 12 or so years of lying about betting on baseball HELL YES HE SHOULD GO he didnt throw any games and it couldnt be done in this day. PETE ROSE FOR COMMISIONNER NOW THAT WOULD BE IRONIC HAHAHAH!

Pete Rose should be in the hall for his accomplishments on the field not as a coach. Despite any ones thoughts of him.

Yes!! What happend after his playing career was over should not take away from what he accomplished. He was a great player and should be in the Hall of Fame!

Yes. His achievements on the field should be all that matter. All the other hall of fames, including baseball, have people who have lacked character, but they just looked at their contributions to that sport.

Yes

MLB under the current commissioner is a loser. So hypocritical too.

The integrity of the game starts with the man in charge. He takes a stand on one issue, personally, but uses other ethnically issues by to promote the game.

Also, doesn't understand the game. How can a game end in a tie? He is a complete idiot and nerd

Yes. He is the all time hits king so what he gambled. Gary Shiefield got caught in 1999 for the samething he still plays. Darrly Strawberry got aressted for drugs 6 times during his MLB carrer. Rose has admitted and appoligized let him in.
