what? god green? HES NOT GREEN THE GROUCH IS GREEN... AND ELMO IS RED.. I THINK BECAUSE ITS AN EDUCATIONAL SHOW THEY WANT KIDS TO SEE DIFFERENT COLORS... OR BECAUSE RED IS THE COLOR OF ANGER AND GREEN IS THE COLOR OF JEALOUSY...

I'm not sure why he's red but I have a book (really old book) where Elmo is blue. I think they changed the colour because Cookie Monster is blue and the kids were confusing the 2. Maybe they changed his colour because there were no red monsters. I sort of liked the blue Elmo better.
