Besides the fact that you're making money, I can't honestly think of any other reasons anyone would. And yes, I myself work in retail.

Because it is a job that does not require a great deal of special talents, unique skills or a degree, and someone needs to provide to those who have a need. Hence, retail. I am glad you do work in it, as many people would be lost without your assistance. Thank you!

I use to own a retail store I worked as a retail clerk first I really liked meeting people and working with the merchandise but I know some employers do not treat their employees very well maby that's the reason you don't enjoy your work .Hope you find something that you really like to do in the work force

Here is another question to ponder. If you are going to work retail(long hours, weekends, holidays, etc.), selling items for someone else, why not just work for yourself, selling a product that everyone in the United States can use? Why not be your own boss, work when you want, and bring in even more money then you ever would by working retail? Just another question to think about.

Mostly, because it is usually just a stepping stone. You do learn a lot in retail. But it should not be the ultimate career if you don't see any progress for long. Some of them love it but not all them pay that well.

I worked in retail for 16 loong years. Then I went back to college and am a geriatric nurse now..best decision I ever made

Someone has to do it. I feel your pain though...I use to work retail only until I found something better. I see retail for high school/college students and retired folks.

Mysister works in coach and she gets 60% off she hates it but 400$ doller bags for reall cheap

its good if you get a discount! I am thinking of taking a part time job at a childrens clothing store..just for the discount and to get me out of the house. at least its air conditioned and your not slopping food.
