The democrats are calling for a time table; and elements of the party say leave now. The hew and cry of Bush lied falls on deaf ears since Hillary, Bill and Kerry said the same thing (even Gore). But I want to know what the left's answer is for Iraq and for al queda?

You tell the public Bush is wrong and we need to withdraw, you tell the public we are losing this war. You gripe about not finding Osama and claim we went to war for oil. So - what say you - lefties.

What are you going to do about al queda? What is your agenda; the "right" is engaged in its agenda and you are undermining it - fine - disagree with it - now tell us what is your agenda.

What are you going to do about Iraq? What is your agenda since Bush has declared and is engaged in his and you can't support it. What is your agenda? What is Iraq going to be like in 5 or 10 years with your agenda?

Its time to stop complaining unless you have an answer? Well...what is your answer?

Libertarian answer:
Give them what they want. Why does our own arrogance trump common sense?

1) Stop giving foreign aid to Israel. We give them $9000/year to every man, woman, and child. Why are we paying for this from our hard-earned tax dollars?

2) Stop arming their dictators and keeping the oppressors in power? Want to disarm the middle-east and bring about democratic change...DON'T SELL WEAPONS TO THEM. Stop letting arms smugglers go with a wink and a nod. Don't sell them the means and tech to produce biological and chemical weapons the dictators will use to stay in power and murder their own people more efficiently.

3) Stop educating the jihadists. That's right, their anti-american, pro-killing jihadist textbooks used in the maddrassas ARE PRINTED BY OUR GOVERNMENT and given to them in a program running from the mid 70's until today. Knock it off.

4) Break the Saudi OPEC monopoly. Our business treaties with the middle east mainly involve bribing the Saudi's and other shieks with huge amounts of cash for their oil. They in turn use that money to mollify the poor folk by arming them, keeping them angry but loyal and blind to the class difference in their own countries. Our foreign policy supports this whole-heartedly. WE DON'T CARE if it is a democracy or a dictatorship, so long as they are Western friendly.

5) Open a real dialogue of understanding, this means our foreign policy must be more than "Yeeee-haw!!!". Use real statesmen and diplomats that are culturally sensitive and can work out real deals that keep the interests and dignity of everyone in mind. One-sided demands really don't work that well, nobody likes to be threatened or bullied into doing things against their self-interest.

6) Let them evolve and come around themselves. Don't give any quarter in our own territory, but at the same time don't infringe upon them. Their cultural values are as sacred to them as ours are to us. Accept the fact that there is no black and white, right or wrong, good or evil. The western powers have not been saints EVER in their countries, nor are all Arabs demonic heathens.

My answer is to go after Al Quada with special forces. Basically that's what they are doing against us. They have no navy, no tanks no warships, no satellites.

We are trying to kill a fly with a sledgehammer. And its costing us dearly. As far as Iraq in ten years, no one can guarantee anything about a country that has been around for 48 centuries longer than the US. Can you?

But I am only one member of the Left, as you classify us. If your answer is to "stay the course" you have nothing new to offer yourself.

We on the left might not all agree on a single course of action today, but we know this present course is not working, was badly planned and poorly executed, and has cost several times what the Administration said it would.

How about stop interfering with Islamic nations like in Isreal and Saudia Arabia and Iraq and Afghan. We should stop forcing American Corperations in Islamic countries, like The Gap, McDonalds, and Taco Bell. Every time we invade a Muslim Country they see it as a crusade, right or wrong thats the way they see it. You dont want to see it that way you think it is surrendering. Its not it is handing over a country to its people.

It is natural for people to fight against American injustices, the way to stop it is to stop the Imperialistic American foreign policy.

Americans shouldn't be in Iraq in the first place, the best thing they could do now is go home to their families.

What Iraq will be like in the future is none of the USA's business, that's a concern for Iraqi's only.

you started the mess in Iraq... you clean that up... oh, I forgot, Bush is leaving it for the next president.. .hahahaha... a conservative

al queda...well it was simple... go after Osama, where ever he is, with everything you got... to into Pakistan... go into Saudi Arabia... go into the Sudan... Basically go where he has links...

until he's dead... but now that Bush has involved the majority of our military in Iraq, things are much more difficult...

After Osama was killed... going back and taking care of Saddam would have been easy... he clearly wasn't going to do anything on his own anyway...

Boy you are full of cliches and hate.

What if a Democratic Candidate invaded South Africa and got us bogged down in a unwinnable civil guerrilla war.

Then Dems started whining about "what is your agenda Republican, since you dont like our cronyinsm and corruption."

You guys are Pathetic, and Dems are only a little better.

Sick.
