The Matrix is in my top 5 movies list, and I don't want to ruin it by watching the last two, if they're crap (which I've heard is true).
I was satisfied with the ending of the Matrix, so it's not a big deal to me if I don't watch the last two!!

First of all, never listen to other peoples criticism, judge for yourself. If you liked the first one, watch the rest. Some people loved them, some people hated them. Personally, I loved them. It depends if you "get it" or not. Most people that I talked to that hated it expected repeats of the first movie. They're not, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Also, it might help if you watch the Animatrix first.

I say go ahead and watch them. Especially if you like agent Smith. The worse part is the terrible "love connection" between Neo and Trinity, it ruins the movies. However, some redeeming qualities that reminded me of the first made them worth watching for me.

The first one was definately the best. The second one was promising. But i hated the third one. I still haven't watched it since it was in theaters even though we bought it on DVD. But I plan on watching the whole series again one day, it was very confusing. Perhaps I'll like it better now that I'm older.

Saw 'em both. Neat special effects, but both are pretty forgettable (so much so that I won't bother with any ratings). Stick with just the first one.
