The President has certain powers in peacetime. He has even more in wartime. However these powers have limits stated in the Constitution. When people believe that the President has overstepped his bounds, they are obliged by law to look into it.

When the Supreme Court of the United States finds that the President has overstepped his bounds, they make a ruling.
In this case, they found that for five years, President Bush waged war as he saw fit. If intelligence officers needed to eavesdrop on overseas telephone calls without warrants, he authorized it. If the military wanted to hold terrorism suspects without trial, he let it.

Now the Supreme Court has struck at the core of his presidency and dismissed the notion that the president alone can determine how to defend the country. In rejecting Bush's military tribunals for terrorism suspects, the high court ruled that even a wartime commander in chief must govern within constitutional confines significantly tighter than this president has believed appropriate.

Remember that some of the Justices on this Supreme Court were appointed by President Bush. This is no Liberal attack. The next thing that could happen (but prob. won't because of the Republican majority in the Senate) is that the Senate of the USA could impeach the president. This has happened more than once in history.

Why is whom investigating the president? There's nothing new or different happening.

Whiner babies.

Seriously, it is all a scam. If anyone TRUELY considers himself or herself a diehard Republican or Democrat, then they are brainwashed idiots. Politicians on both sides are all on the same side. It is not Republican vs. Democrat, it is US against THEM. The investigation is just a ploy for both sides to stir up voters and to distract them from real issues.

Because the Repubs want it to appear they're distancing themselves from the little dictator. They want the American public to think they're the good guys (like we don't have any memory at all).

I remember how the set Richard Nixon up, back in the seventies. He refused to climb in bed with the American Oil Cartel and the party screwed him.

They are bored and have nothing better to do. I mean they have already finished up that whole "War on Terrorism" right? oh they haven't... Well they found those millions of dollars "lost" after the New Orleans disater right? oh no again...I got it here's one they finally found out who shot Kennedy. Oh darn no again.

well that's our tax dollars at "work" for you. Quick bring up something new and provoking so no one realizes that we don't have a clue what we are doing.

they're probably not...it's probably just a media tactic...stirring up nonsense to make some news...don't believe the hype and I haven't heard anything of it...probably just water cooler talk that someone thought would make as an interesting topic...did you think it up? I hear there's an opening...the reporters here are always pregnant these days so they're probably hiring again, seriously.
