how could he have waited for her if her time moves forward to and the fact that he died. any ideas it was a beautiful story but i mean does anyone have the answers.

I believe we're dealing with a classic multiverse paradox here.
The multiverse theory hypothesizes that the universe is not singular, but rather one phase of an almost infinite number of alternate dimensions.

So in one dimension, he dies. In the other dimension, he reads the book and lives.

As to the time moving thing, another paradox. Say someone from 2004 sends a letter to me today and says lets me at noon on June 29. For me, it's only a few hours away. For them, it's a two year wait... but we both arrive at the same place at the same time. As long as both people exist in that timeline with the multiverse, there's nothing preventing the meeting.

Yes... It's a weird ride, but hold on...
The movie was written in a way to try to please everybody: Let the pessimist and the optimist win.
For the pessimist, he died in the street. Movie's over... Nothing more to see here, move on...
For the optimist, he's given the 2nd chance that if he'd actually read the book - Persuasion - and did the waiting as she had written him, then he won't get killed and would still be able to drive up at the happy ending...
