can someone plz help me? i need help in some basic inequalities problems. it was somewat confusing because i started to learn about it today. if you can help then i'll most likely choose your answer as a best answer.

1)12 < 18-6x

2)4> 10 +5x

Just like with equations, the solution to an inequality is a value that makes the inequality true. You can solve inequalities in the same way you can solve equations, by following these rules:

i) You may add any positive or negative number to both sides of an inequality.

ii) You may multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by any positive number.

iii)If you multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number, reverse the direction of the inequality sign!

1)

12<18-6x (first, subtract 18 from both sides)
12-18<18-6x-18
-6<-6x (then multiply both sides with-1)
(-6 )*( -1) < (-6x) *( -1) (reverse the direction of the inequality sign)
6 > 6x (then divide both sides by 6)
6/6 > 6x/6
1>x

For 2 and 3, do the same ...
2)

4>10+5x
4-10>10+5x-10
-6>5x
-6/5>5x/5
-6/5>x

3)

12<9+9x
12-9<9+9x-9
3<9x
3/9 < 9x/9
1/3
Good luck!

just always remember the formula y=mx+b it automatically gives you (y) and m is slope and b is the intercept you just have to solve for x

now for the inequalities just pretend they are the equal sign.

so
1) 12=18-6x
6x=6
x= 1
y=12

and so on...

The main object is to get the unknown number (x) by itself on one side.

The first one for example, minus 18 to both sides it = -6 < -6x so how do you get x by itself now? whats the opposite of multiply? divide!

So you divide both sides by -6 it = 1 < x

That's just the main concept, get x by itself.

1)
12<18-6X
=> 12-18<-6X
=> -6/-6 => 1
2)
4>10+5X
=> -6<5X
=> -5/6

and so on..

OH ITS REAL EASY

YOU TAKE THE NUMBERS IN PARENTHESES FIRST SO WE HAVE BLAH TIMES BLAH PLUS THE SQUARE ROOT OF ONE MILLION MINUS THE DECIMAL POINT AND ADD THE SUM OF THE QUOCIENT TO THE OUTCOME OF THE PROBLEM.

HOPES THIS HELPS!!!!!!
