I am 17 years of age living in Georgia. I just started working for a kisok in a local mall. My manager is a very slick seemingly evil person...atleast thats how most people perceie him including me. So on day 1 i worked from 11-6 (mall closes at 9) he closed the shift. Day 2 i worked from 11-6 as well. Again, he is the one that closed. So on day 2, right after he closed, he called me and told me that I was 100 dollars short and that I was responsible for it. And i know for certain that there was no money taken out of the drawer. He has been having trouble paying his rent and i believe that he is taking my money as an excuse. He can simply be lying about the short money. Or he simply could have taken the money out of the drawer himself. What can i do?? I am under 18. and he pays me under the table thanks

I agree with the second answerer, but also contact your local labor board and let them know what this guy is doing. Him accusing you of theft isn't a good sign. Quit immediately. If he's paying you under the table, there's a good possibility that he's up to something you don't want to be involved in.

If you get no where at the labor board, try contacting a lawyer. A lot of times you can talk to a lawyer about these things on what's called "free consultation." At the very least they can point you in the right direction.

What ever you do, your job isn't worth getting into trouble over. Protect yourself and quit.

He's paying you under the table. Confront him tell you want the draw counted down by both of you before you leave. If he gives you sh!t tell you are going to declare your pay and tell the IRS that he is paying people under the table and you want to do the right thing. Remind him that it is tax fraud and a Federal wrap and that means 16 to 25 years and no parole in the Federal jail system. that should have him sh

I would turn the guy in for paying employees under the table. Choosing to work in that situation probably leaves you with little rights.

Find a new job, asap.

What he is doing is illegal. He cannot pay you under the table. He has to report your wages. Call the Employment Develpment Department in your state and they can help you resolve this.

WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD. MY ADVICE IS TO QUIT IMMEDIATELY. HE IS DEFINITELY TAKING YOU FOR A RIDE.
IF ANYONE TELL YOU TO GIVE HIM ANOTHER CHANCE. YOU TELL THEM TO WORK FOR THE SHYSTER.
