I live in Florida and many people keep telling me that turning left on red at certain intersections is legal. Such an intersection would be at two one-way roads. I don't think it's legal.

If there is a sign posted that states that you can, then it's probably fine. If you don't see the sign, I wouldn't do it. I researched and found this from the driver's handbook in florida:

"that issue is dealt with in the Florida Drivers Handbook in only one sentence buried in the traffic signal section. It says. "Left turns on red from a one-way street into a one-way street are also allowed."

I live in Ohio and if you are turning left from a one way street to another one way street then turning left on red is legal. Sorry I can't say for Florida. You can check this site out www.flsenate.gov

I hope it helps.

If there is a sign that reads "Left Turn On Arrow Protected" then you are allowed to turn when there is no traffic coming but then the light would be just the green circle. You can only turn Right on red if there is no sign that reads "Right Turn On Arrow Only".

You can only turn left on red from a oneway road to a oneway road.

Left On red is legal if the traffic of the lane you are turning on to is going in that same direction. They also have this in Phoenix.

Check your state DMV. It's legal in California if you're in the left-hand lane of a one-way road, and the one-way road you're entering is moving left.

If you are at a red stoplight, and you are on a one way, turning onto a one way, you may turn left on red.
