I dont see why you shouldn't. People often make mistakes in home and business, and Yahoo! Answers is no exception. People make mistakes, and I see no reason why you should correct an answer someone else has given as long as your correction pertains to the original question asked (as in answering the question accurately) and are able to give sources to backup why your answer is more accurate.

If you find the answer offensive or if it is irrelevant to the question you can report it. Just click on Report Abuse and follow the instructions. Just be sure you don't report out of vengeance or anything like that. If you refer to someone in your answer then you are committing a violation of the rules by chatting or using the site for personal communication. Read the rules.

You can report the question or answer-I do know that. If you refer to the person you could get an email from yahoo that will delete your answer and it will explain why it was deleted. I think it is none of our business what people answer -but you can still answer it-just be careful of your wording.

A couple of nights ago I asked a question about Starr Jones and what was going on with her. Most of the answers were given very politely and informative. But there was one person that answered me by saying " I can't believe I'm answering this question cause it is so dumb. Then she went on to say she knew nothing about it.If she thought the question was dumb, and then said she knew nothing about it, Why did she answer it? For the points? That is the kind of stuff that irritates me.

I see it a lot. If you feel so inclined, you can point out the errors in the other person's answer or you can email the asker and point out the error. This is true especially for Health/Medical or Car Safety questions. When I feel the person is likely unable to determine harmful info I feel obliged to step in-my conscience would not allow otherwise.

If people followed acceptable standards of conduct, we would not have to contend with certain offensive answers. But there are some who seem to delight in giving offensive answers. So just report the abuse by the offending answerer, and give your best answer.

If it is really offensive, click on the abuse line and report it. Sometimes people answer with some really rude responses that aren't helpful, just hateful. You can respond to them in the same question, and then give your helpful answer afterwards.

I treat the situation the same I would if I were in a group conversation with someone saying something I did not agree with. I would share my opinion without attacking the other person. This allows the listeners to consider all varying viewpoints on their own.

Sure, if you're serious and really want to answer the question in the way you know best, don't be afraid to (politely) tell them that "hey, that other dude is totally wrong, here's the real deal"
