when a car speeds by you, you feel wind. it's the same way with the earth, as it spins very fast.

I think I understand this concept. But I have a question...

If you make the tunnel narrower will it cause the wind to move faster? Just like a river; when a river narrows, the velocity of the water increases (assuming the volume does not change).

Pressure differential from one side of the mountain to the other. That is the answer for why water flows and why air moves. It is moving from a region of high pressure to a region of low pressure and it is using the easiest path.

In this case, it is going through the hole that man put there to make it easier for him to go from one side of the mountain to the other.
