Most small insects that can get inside your ear will get trapped in the wax and be unable to move and may die. Larger bugs may struggle and be unable to get out in the narrow canal but are unlikely to lay eggs there.
I couldn't find any documented cases of bugs laying eggs in ears in the US, but in Bangkok in 2005 MSNBC reported a case of a man having over 50 maggots in his ear.

well....
it is patently impossible for insects and/or other arthropods to enter one ear and chew through to the other; a little logic should tell us so. There are a number of flies that feed as maggots in the living tissues of vertebrates. While none seek humans out as their normal host, people are occasionally parasitized by accident. Usually their entry is through wounds, or the mucous membrane of bodily orifices (yeech!).
Yes, insects and other arthropods do wander into people's ears, but not to lay eggs. The human ear can be an effective trap for small critters; the poor little dears simply blunder in and are trying to find their way out by frantically scratching around.

It is a Myth...superstition...Ear wigs (one, nasty looking insect) we're 'supposed' to crawl into people ear's at night, and lay eggs, and the larva would hatch a bore into the person's brain...Although, I've met a few people who have behaved like this has happened to them, there are no known reported or documented cases of this ever happening.

Yes, chickens can sneak into your bedroom at night and lay eggs in your ears. No wait -- chickens aren't insects. Then, I'd have to say no.

earwax is suppose to be a repellent against bugs i think.i knew someone who went to the doctor because something was irritating their ear so the ear/nose specialist doctor used this mini vacuum device & found that a sneaky ant had crawled into their ear:( yikes!i might need to wear earmuffs to sleep to prevent against creepy crawlies like baby spiders/ants.
