I'm not exactly sure what I would do either. I think I'd ask my spouse if they knew about what was being said. Then I would ask my spouse to talk to mother in law. If it continued to happen after a long talk, then I probably wouldn't want anything else to do with her. I wouldn't tell her anything else, or visit her unless she stopped talking bad behind your back.

I go thru this all the time!! Have your husband say something to her!! It`s his mother and he needs to put mommy in her place. Don`t let this slide because she will think she can always run things if you don`t stop it now!! And make sure your there when he does it!!! He needs to step up and not push this under the rug!!!
