If Me And My Girl Had A Child I Would Want My Child To Choose Who He/She Wanted To Be Not To Have To Struggle Like People Before Us Had To Struggle

I have 3 adult children and a 9yr old.......the 9yr old seems straight but you never know......of the 3 adult kids, 1 is gay, and in all honesty I could never see him as a straight man........he is who he is and I suspected it when he was just 2yrs old....I worried when he was little about how he would deal with life, but he's a very strong person.........if I had a child today with my partner, I would only hope that child was healthy and had a good life........the sexual preferance wouldnt matter in the least.

I prefer my child be true to what they are. Either way I'll love them no less. Any parent just wants their child to be happy. Gay or Straight. Just be happy.

My wish is that I could have instilled in them a strong sense of self awareness and identity. Having gone through the comming out process, I would hope we would be accepting of our child's desires, orientation and identity. I wonder, though, do the children of gay parents "come out" as either gay or straight to their dads or moms? "Dad, I'm straight"...

I wouldn't really care and would want the child to grow up true to themself and be happy.

But if I HAD to pick one, it would be straight because it's a heck of a lot easier to fit into soceity and find a partner. Also, I wouldn't want to have sneering neighbours going "They turned their child gay"

It wouldn't matter if they were straight, gay, lesbian, bi, transgender, or anything else.Yes, being some of those things can be abit harder, people are always discriminating.. But it's not my choice what sexual orientation the child may be born with/prefer. I would just want my child to be themself and be happy.

Straight, why would anyone want their child to have to go through the hardships that they have just for being different.

Wouldnt matter, When it comes down to it, its there choice to be gay or not and you as the parent should accept the choice they make. With out a sexual prefrence. Then there will be no hurt feelings

well honestly i wouldnt care wether they were gay or straight a parent is suppose to love their child not matter what and to perfer your child to be one way or the other is just wrong you need to just be happy for your child no matter what it's your childes choice i dont think you should try to decide for your child i think that you need to just explaine to your child that their parents chose to like a sertian gender and that it's okay no matter hwat gender they like
