It all depends on the attitude you go in with, as long as your are not cocky and you know from the beginning that they can't do physical harm to you no matter what they say and you remember that the 11 weeks will end it should be no problem. It is only as hard as you make it. I did my basic 20 years ago from July - September. I will say it was the most rewarding experience I ever had in the Army. The only physical training I suggest you do before you go is to run 2 to 3 miles per day in about 8 minutes per mile at the slowest and start working on your push ups. If you choose to go in Best of Luck to you.

it is what you make of it. If you go with a good attitude and the willingness to learn you will do fine. I found my BTC very informative and as long as you followed the rules they left you alone. I would rate it about a 8 for the first week then about a 5 after that

I had friends and family serve in the Army and it's plenty tough in bootcamp. I was in the Navy but I don't think it's a tough as the Army and I think that the Marines is the toughest. I would rate the Marines a 10 and the Army a 9.

Good answers here. It all boils down to endurance mental and physical at least in the old days. If you can run and be athletic and not take things personally probably an 8. If your out of shape and can't take critisizm nearly impossible.

My friend said it was absolute hell...and I'd trust him with my life. I guess that means it's about a 9 or so.
I suppose that's good though. It means you'll be properly prepared.

Mentally or Physically?
Mentally how much self control do you have?
Phyiscally if you are in shape it's easier than if you are not, but IT's tough. 8 maybe.
