well, if it is starting to swell, you should ice it. Make sure to alternate between ice and no ice every 20 minutes and to elevate. When using ice, your nerves tell your brain to send more blood to the affected area. You should probably use an ace bandage to give added support. If your injury is from something like a fall, you should definitely go see a doctor b/c it maybe broken, cracked, or sprained. But sometimes you may have slept wrong and you just streched the tendons too far or the wrong way. It should go away in a few days. If it is still bothering you after a few days, go see a doctor.
Feel better!

That depends upon what you did to it to make it hurt. Did you bang it into something or fall on it, is it swelling or could it be broken or sprained? Go to the urgent care clinic to have it x-rayed. Has it been a gradual buildup of pain, maybe accompanied by numbness at times? Make an appointment to see your doctor in his office. Did you do too much with it today, such as pulling weeds or cleaning or something else that you are not used to doing or did too much of? Put some ice on it, let it rest, and see how it feels tomorrow. I hope it gets better soon!

I have been having chronic wrist pain as well...Go to the Dr. Mine told me that I have tendonitis which is actually really painful. He gave me a wrist thing to help me be easy with it, but I also have a family history of carpal tunnel syndrome. He said that if the problem persists, we'll look into it further.

get a wrist wrap that holds your wrist in place.. i forgot what it is called.. a brace of some sort...it should help but if it does not feel better in a few days maybe you should go have it checked by the doctor.. if you think it is broke then go right away.

Wrap an ace bandage around it for the night, but not too tight or it will hurt in the AM, and call your Doctor tomorrow!

Try the second answer if that does not work after a day or so then go to the first answer. You are both right.
Ignore the rest.
