its real good looking but I get alot of critism from my family members they think I should be different and not draw that style (I know that doesn't seem to make any sense, but that's what they say) I can draw more real looking but that doesn't always make me feel happy, God gave me an imagination and talent; I want to use it! What's your advice on art critism or just some advice(that's fine)? Sorry it's so long!

Opinion: art is a personal experience and within it, you have full autonomy. You have talent and desire to create according to your own vision, which is beautiful.

The only criticism of value is that which can take your closer to your objective; anything that attempts to steer you away from your inner muse is not for your benefit. That doesn't mean you shouldn't be polite: you can acknowledge it by thanking a person for their interest and appreciating their good intention, however, you have no obligation to absorb it into how you feel and allow to change what you create.

Anime is a legitimate artform. So is photorealistic drawing/painting as is 3D animation, comic book illustrations, choreography, etc.: they all have different markets, audiences and earning potential.

In the case of the "Gorillaz" performance on the recent Grammy Awards, all the above disciplines were used (to a degree) simultaneously.

I think the conflict is that your family members likely view anime as "kid stuff"; they're thinking Pokemon or whatever. They may not realize that anime's "sibling", Manga, accounts for at least 40% of all publishing in Japan, that fans of anime range from ages 5 to 95 worldwide and finally, one of the most succesful film trilogies in history, "The Matrix", is more-or-less anime but revisioned in live action (the Wacowski Bros. have openly [and happily] shared this in interviews and feature-length commentaries on Matrix dvds).

Draw whatever you want. I understand the feeling "happy" when you draw a certain thing or way.

BUT, if you plan to actually persue art as a career, you REALLY need to get away from anime as your main style. Create your own. I'm telling you this because I'm going to an art institute, and they, as well as my highschool/middle school/other colleges I've talked to, have said that the art industry HATES anime. It is an 'overused', 'unimaginative' style and they don't want artists who do it.

Just keep that in mind.
Have a great day!

i love to draw anime and manga too! Draw whatever you want. There are many manga artists and they all have their own styles. There isn't a real manga style cuz they all are different. Draw what u want.

i think you should continue to keep drawing anime, don't draw the way others want you to. if drawing real people makes you kinda sad, then just stick with anime ^_^ (i too, draw anime)

i can relate, that happens to me with more than just drawing...but for my art i just keep it a secret...i dont show them so i dont have to face anything...but show it to your friends, they can be really supportive! a good idea for keeping your drawings together is a sketchbook :) anime is cool, dont let what they say bother you!!
(i love and draw anime too)
