China's history goes back 6000 years, past the flood. I have reason to believe the top of the Himalaya Mtns were not covered. Interesting subject.

Someone answered another question of mine about underground civilizations saying: at the historical time of the flood, in north Canada an ice dam broke and released Arctic waters, raising ocean levels. (No don't worry about "global warming") It appears that there was a worldwide flood but not to the highest levels. Mesopotamia is low lying, plus the writers looked at that as the "world", plus of course didn't they think the world was flat.

Is there reason to believe the continents drifted apart during human history? Might this explain Atlantis too? But I still want to hear how the Chinese account for 6000 years of history.

Noah's flood is not to be taken literally. Afterall what was the size of the known world at the time it was written. The people that wrote the bible had no idea about most of the world's continents.
Noah's flood was likely the handed down story of a great (localized) flood that devastated the known world of the local people. Possibly the forming of the black sea from the Mediterranean Sea. That would have been quite an event to people of that region and archeological evidence shows that an event did happen in pre-history. Before 6 thousand years ago.
Don't get me going on Noah's animals - genetically impossible. Only the faithful need believe - no room for the factual.

Actually not that interesting. There was no great Earth-drowning flood. Not that covered the whole Earth. Be sensible. It's taken thousands of scientists hundreds of years traveling thousands of miles around the Earth to all of the continents to find and describe all of the species on the Earth, and still we only have them half done. And you think Noah rounded them up and stuck them on one boat? 1 man in a lifetime? The boat wasn't that big. Couldn't even have gotten a third of the mammals on there, let alone birds, etc.
When you see the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and the tooth fairy, send them by. I want a refund......

According to God's Word, ALL of the earth was covered. Not some, but ALL. Noah sent a dove out but it came back because it could find no place to land. the second time Noah sent a dove out, it came back with an olive tree branch in its beak. This signalled to Noah that there was now some earth that was uncovered (the waters had receded) and the vegetation had begun to grow. I would give you a more complete answer than this, but it's getting late and I have to go to bed. If you want more info, you can write me at mashiah48901@yahoo.com. Have a good night.

most religions have some sort of giant flood account. The biblical account says that the entire world was covered in water, including the tallest trees and highest mountains.
God wouldn't have missed a spot when He was trying to rid the world of its wickedness. (read the account, people were pretty gruesome. lucky for this modern gruesome age, the flood happened way back then and God promised never to flood the earth again.)
the people may have believed the world was flat, but God knew better. you think He would, He made it.
also, different cultures had different ways of dating events and things. traditional jewish calendar versus roman calendar versus gregorian? calendar (that we use now) and others.

They couldn't have. the international is in uncomplicated phrases 6000 years previous. there have been no chinese language previously the flood. There are 3 significant races that got here from Noahs relations. All 3 of his sons scattered to seperate aspects of the international shortly after the flood to repopulate the earth. that's the position our races of persons got here from.

God does not lie and if he say's he is going to flood the whole earth then you can bet he is going to flood the whole thing, the top of the Hinalaya's included. Everything was whiped out except what was on that boat all over the world.

Next time fire!
Maybe the Chinese miss counted the years , Maybe the Jews did?
Maybe they are both right maybe they are both wrong.

The story of Noah... is written from the perspective of passing on meaning... story telling. The moral of Noah is "believe in yourself"
So realistically....given the information the answer 2 ur question is yes. All is possible.

The flood myth is common in many religions, but only Mesopotamian religions. It's quite possible there was a huge flood, but only in that particular area.
Nothing else was touched.
