sk tools. Dependant on the work you do,when you do it, and how hard you expect to use your tools are the questions you need to ask yourself. if your a serious late night or/and weekend mechanic you will be interested in knowing that most your high end tool men (snap - on, mac, and matco) will be there for you like on call, especially if you build a good report with t hem. break a tool, call them and they will replace it, at any time. matco is the cheapest of the three-and their all lifetime guaranteed. SK however has been a very durable toolmaker and is very affordable. I've never broke any and i use many of their tools for off road/heavy equipment repair. SK's website -

Depends on whether you're looking at cost or value. Stanley is a decent brand, but you can't beat the unconditional lifetime guarantee on a Craftsman. IF you can actually break the wrench, which doesn't happen often, you walk into Sears with it and walk out with a new one, even if you broke it by bashing the Sears siding off your neighbor's house.

Stanley is mid-grade and fairly cheap. Craftsman by Sears is expensive and represent more toward the high end, though not as expensive as snapon of course.
Vermont is a brand I think Lowe's sells and they are good, mid-grade tools.
