you can't really cancel it (that's why they put all those warnings when you bid saying you're agreeing to a contract)
your best bet is to contact the action owner and ask them to retract your bid for you. (but they might not agree)

You can email the seller with a damn good excuse as to why you want to cancel the bid and he/she has every right to deny you. As you know when you bid on the item, you were signing a contract that is legally binding. So chances are you will have to pay..you can always turn around and try to get your money back by reposting it to sell yourself. If you don't know how to, there are some people popping up all over, it seems, who are doing this for other people ..we have one where I live
I hope you aren't the one who outbid me on a rare vhs video

Bid Retraction. You really shouldn't use eBay if you're not going to read all the policies. If you don't have a good reason they'll still make you pay for the item.

You can't cancel a bid, try e-mailing the person who is doing the auction and they may take you out of the running.

No, he shouldn't have bid on multiple things if he only needed one of that item.

i think the only way you can cancel your bid is if you can prove that you did it on accident. but i dont really excatly know how to do it.

you can retract your bid, but that is not the recommended thing to do..unless you don't want to do much business on ebay.
